Personal Response I read the short children s story called to Invisible Alligators by Hayes Roberts to my little cousin Emma She liked the book and the pictures but had a couple uestions at the end that I did not even have the answers to This book was a little confusing which it should not be since it is a children s story PlotThis book is about a young monkey named Sari who keeps waking up to a huge amount of obstacles She encounters her bridge being broken different items on the staircase causing her to trip when she goes down them not being able to go to school on time she can not ride her llama to school because her lama is not listening and another obstacle she faces is not being able to go to her favorite class Algebra 11 She finds out that there is invisible alligators underneath her bed and they lead her down to a secret lair where she finds out the truth of all the troubles she has to deal with They made up a huge book of things to make her day bad everyday but she isn t the only one they are harassing they are harassing everyone else too CharacterizationThe main character is a little girl named Sari who just happens to be a little monkey A couple main characters are little invisible alligators Sari finds underneath her bed They cause everyone problems and there is no way to rid of them The basically have everyone s fate in their own separate book Impact Setting This story takes place in a little neighborhood surrounded by a bunch of different kinds of animals This story also takes place whenever you want it to since it is a children s story It mostly takes place inside though where she encounters all of her personal problemsThematic ConnectionI think this book is about learning to pick up after yourself You are always going to be faced with day to day challenges and you just have to keep pushing forward Sari found out that she is not the only one having to deal with these problems so she just comes home picks up and goes to bed RecommendationI would not refer this book to anyone It is extremely confusing towards the end and this book does not really go anywhere I would not even recommend this book to a teacher teaching preschool If I had to recommend this book to anyone I would to little kids that do not exactly know how to comprehend yet
