It cannot end like this' When you feel that way even after reading 450 page

THIS REVIEW IS FILLED WITH SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK Extreme mixed feelings about this book I loved it while at the same time I hated it The entire life of Massoumeh is spent with her working so hard not for her happiness but for the sake of survival and for her children s happiness She deserved an awful lot than what she got What bothers me so much and what I just can t seem to wrap my head around is the ending After all that time she still didn t end up with poor Saiid Whom would ve been nothing but her key to a happy and fulfilling life This book has been etched into my mind since the 2 days ago when I first began to read it Massoumeh suffered too much her brother Ahmad s death was not as horrible as it should have been I had wished to see some character development on his part MAHMOUD WAS THE BIGGEST PISS OFF Honestly what saddens me most about this book is how Hamid failed to realize the importance of family and his duty s not only a father but a husband as well The second thing that makes me swell with sadness is how Massoum never ended up with Saiid SIGH However apart from all things I didn t like I did enjoy many aspects of this book It was truthful and excellent in portraying the unfortunate events of Iran s political situation during that time era and evenstill to this day I liked how it demonstrated how politics even affected the young someone who wasn t involved at all Lastly I loved the character development of Massoumeh She was a shy proper teenager whom grew into an exceptionally strong intelligent and selfless individual Her self sacrifice was painful to bear I also loved her lifetime friendship with Parvaneh Exceptional book with many heartbreaks however this is how life works Our destiny is written the day we are born and I guess there s nothing for us to do about that fact except to endure our hardships to the best of our ability and enjoy with all our might the goodtimes we are given Massoumeh is definitely one of my most favorite characters I just truly wish she had ended up with Saiid that woman deserved some self happiness in her last few years Femmes, si vous saviez... : 83 questions-réponses, hormones, ménopause, ostéoporose read it Massoumeh suffered too much her brother Ahmad s death was not as horrible as it should have been I had wished to see some character development on his part MAHMOUD WAS THE BIGGEST PISS OFF Honestly what saddens me most about this book is how Hamid failed to Au bagne realize the importance of family and his duty s not only a father but a husband as well The second thing that makes me swell with sadness is how Massoum never ended up with Saiid SIGH However apart from all things I didn t like I did enjoy many aspects of this book It was truthful and excellent in portraying the unfortunate events of Iran s political situation during that time era and evenstill to this day I liked how it demonstrated how politics even affected the young someone who wasn t involved at all Lastly I loved the character development of Massoumeh She was a shy proper teenager whom grew into an exceptionally strong intelligent and selfless individual Her self sacrifice was painful to bear I also loved her lifetime friendship with Parvaneh Exceptional book with many heartbreaks however this is how life works Our destiny is written the day we are born and I guess there s nothing for us to do about that fact except to endure our hardships to the best of our ability and enjoy with all our might the goodtimes we are given Massoumeh is definitely one of my most favorite characters I just truly wish she had ended up with Saiid that woman deserved some self happiness in her last few years

What can i say about this novel It was an easy read I felt I could identify with it in every way as the society I live in is not so different from other eastern societies in terms of culture and norms I have read before and had some idea about the revolution in Iran but this novel gave me insight into what happened to the simple individuals and people in the country and shed some light on to how different societies suffer from the same political and social hypocrisies I could really identify with the main character s struggles Massiumeh and suffering to just lead a normal and simple life It hurt me how she was always sold out as she says from one person to the other First by her brothers who saw that she wasn t a humanbeing just like them then her husband who in the name of freedom oppressed her in different ways then her children in the end who treated her like she was exclusively their own property and some kind of statue that has no heart or needs or feelings This is how women are always oppressed not in the name of religion necessarily but sometimes in the name of some university book ideologies that call for the rights of women but in reality oppress them in different ways It really shocked me how she described Iran after the revolution and it brought back so many memories of my own How all these people who were once together have committed atrocities to eachother and how in the name of religion everything was distorted and real freedom has become of a mirage of beautiful slogans that had nothing to do with reality It shocked me that we are living the same catastrophe as though we humanbeings never learn from the past and are always committing the same mistakes other nations and generations have committed like we never ever learn Or perhaps we are too hopeful and think we will be somehow different from othersI like Massoumeh because i could understand her religious affiliations and her feeling of resentment towards using religion for personal gain and how her husband Hamid who supposedly believed in Communism and freedom was just as bad by letting his family down one time after the other and being so indifferent and irresponsible towards them I noticed also how she has shown the double standards we suffer from in our socities where her son was to lead a very westernized approach when it came to his life but when it came to his mother s he suddenly acted differently eventhough she was not going to commit a crime or do anything wrong according to religion but just because of some stupid traditions and in the name of honour for a dead man who has brought nothing but misery to her life as well Also how women oppress eachother sometimes by giving in to some chauvinistic nonesense that they become worse than some men themselves I expected her daughter Shirin out of all to feel for her and understand her needs but she was the worst amongst her children in denying her mother from her basic right after all the sacrifices she has made for her them over the years I guess i didn t like the ending eventhough it was very realistic because it made me feel that in the end Massoumeh gave in and didn t resist to obtain what s lawfully hers It seems all her life she had to be grateful for the little she got eventhough it was her basic right It broke my heart that she didn t fight till the very end and she was expected as usual to sacrifice her own happiness for others as if it was her dutyOne of the things I really liked is how balanced she was in everything She portrayed an honest and beautiful image of her society and this balanced image is never welcome anywhere in the world i guess Finally the only thing i didn t like was the ending and some parts which were a bit dramatic but i guess it is normal in some novels The metal planet relationship A study of celestial influence right after all the sacrifices she has made for her them over the years I guess i didn t like the ending eventhough it was very Lord Tedric Alien Realms A star book realistic because it made me feel that in the end Massoumeh gave in and didn t 6 Verses That Can Change Your Life resist to obtain what s lawfully hers It seems all her life she had to be grateful for the little she got eventhough it was her basic No Limits Brutal Master #2 right It broke my heart that she didn t fight till the very end and she was expected as usual to sacrifice her own happiness for others as if it was her dutyOne of the things I Lets Be Just Friends Just Friends #1 really liked is how balanced she was in everything She portrayed an honest and beautiful image of her society and this balanced image is never welcome anywhere in the world i guess Finally the only thing i didn t like was the ending and some parts which were a bit dramatic but i guess it is normal in some novels
