Dying Art Free read ↠ 6 A gripping and explosive crime thriller Following his recovery from a personal and professional trauma Detective Chief Inspector Cyril Bennett has been declared medically fit to resume his police duties He returns to discover a complex case involving the a. Dying Art is the fifth book in the DCI Bennett series and by now it definitely feels like catching up with old friendsCyril Bennett is still recovering from traumatic events in the previous book and trying to deal with the guilt he feels in not having been able to stop a tragedy In case it wasn t clear from that sentence I think you should really read the other books in the series as you d miss out on uite a bit of background if you treat this one as a standaloneAs I ve come to expect from Malcolm Hollingdrake the case that Bennett s team is investigating is another intricate one where various people are connected and you hurt your head trying to figure out who what where and why This case touches upon one of Cyril Bennett s passions namely art and paintings But the art world is a dangerous world than you can possibly imagine With a lot of money changing hands it s sure to attract the wrong sort of people who have no ualms whatsoever to trade in fakes and who will go to extraordinary lengths to keep their shady business safeWith Bennett unavailable for part of the storyline it s Owen who moves to the forefront again which I thoroughly enjoyed as he fast became a firm favourite of mine throughout the series Luckily Bennett wasn t too absent as the books are just not the same without the inside jokes and their banterMalcolm Hollingdrake delivers another fantastic addition to this incredibly enjoyable series and I very much luck forward to the next book

Dying Art Free read ↠ 6 Rt worldSoon Bennett unearths a dark side of the industry where greed ambition and dubious practices thrive and where there is money to be made violence and murder are never far awayWorking their way through a maze of galleries museums and the internet Ben. Never one to read a series in a sensible order I ve gone from Book 2 to Book 5 of this series and found art loving DCI Cyril Bennett recovering from a professional and personal tragedy This story is so well told that you don t need to have read the previous books I like that in a series On his return to work the fact that a local art gallery has been burgled and that there s a suspicion that fake art works have found their way into the system means this job it totally up his street Greed and murder are close bedfellows in this bookI really enjoyed the story straying into the machinations within the art world It s known that fake art works find their way into the system even though that means faking their provenance too Malcolm Hollingdrake delves into murky depths here and it s a twisty and exciting read I m sure those who ve followed all the books in the series embarrassed blush have gained greater depth within the characters but a great read is a great read and this one is

Dying Art Free read ↠ 6 Nett’s team struggles to make sense of the evidenceCan Bennett tell the difference between what is real and what is fake  DISCOVER YOUR NEXT FAVOURITE CRIME SERIES NOW Book 1  Only The DeadBook 2  Hell's GateBook 3  Flesh EvidenceBook 4  Game Point. So this is the fifth book in the Detective Chief Inspector Cyril Bennett series after being left gasping at the end of Game Point I was keen to see how Cyril is coping in Dying Art He is still a broken man after a tragic event has left him with huge guilt issues along with over whelming grief While he is almost ready to return to work a death takes place in the art world his side kick DS David Owen begins the investigation but has to adapt to DI Helen Claire taking on the role as his temporary bossNow Cyril is a keen art collector so his knowledge would be extremely useful is Cyril going to be capable of returningI really like the relationship between Bennett and Owen the author gets under their skin and relays the emotions and actions to the reader The knowledge of the art world shines through and makes for a well woven mystery exploring the seedy underworld where money is concerned all rules go out the window and greediness excelsWritten with a great respect to the grief Cyril feels adds to the multi layered crime mystery friendship emotion of the novel I have come to like Cyril and hate to see him distraught On the other hand it s admirable to demonstrate how a hard nut like him can also crumbleThere is plenty in here to hold your attention and keep reading to the end to draw a conclusion While Dying Art is part of a series it can be read as a standalone but to gain the most enjoyment I strongly suggest reading in order Once again Malcolm has produced a stonking good read which I thoroughly enjoyedMy thanks to him and Sarah at Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to be on the blog tour
